Writing on the Web is an undergraduate and graduate course in the Department of Rhetoric and Writing at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and it offers students an introduction to web design and content management techniques, as well as a basic understanding of HTML and CSS. Our work together is, at every turn, concerned with “writing on the web” as a rhetorically situated constellation of practices, and we are never far from conversations about the roles of identity, culture, community, and collaboration in online writing contexts. This blog chronicles just some of the issues, debates, and curiosities we explore in the classroom, and it is meant as both a student-authored web design resource and an outlet for creative and critical inquiry.
